What President Buhari should have addressed in his speech

President Buhari according to many Nigerians really goofed when he made his broadcast on his return from London, because he addressed some irrelevant or less relevant issues in his speech...  or what he said is not what exactly Nigerians who have been waiting over 100 days for their president expected him to say. Having read and heard the speech over and over again , I felt that the president neglected very important issues and went on to perambulate and merry go round a topic about National unity, Secessionist activities on Social media as if he was Donald Trump of USA (Read the full speech here)  President Buhari should have seeked apology from Nigerians from staying from home for such a long period of time on taxpayers money, then he should have briefly talked about his plans on various sectors of the Nigerian economy and things that are being put to place to improve our falling Naira,  and also hint about security and promoted welfare of the Nigerian people... ...

Jamb new cutoffs.. Realistic or Not

The Joint Admission and Matriculation Board, JAMB, has fixed minimum cut off marks for Nigeria’s tertiary institutions. The minimum cut off marks for admissions into universities in Nigeria was set for 120, polytechnics and colleges of education pegged at 100, while that of innovative enterprising institutes was pegged at 110. Institutions are, however, at liberty to raise their cut off marks for admission above the minimum set by JAMB. But seriously what was the Jamb chairman and his board thinking when they pegged the cutoff for admissions into Universities at 120..This is synonymous to reducing the level of education in Nigeria and the degree of seriousness in students, how can our Institutions  rank well and high among top Institutions in the world if students get in through low benched marks as this? Well as long as there is still freedom for universities and other higher institutions to raise their cut off marks for admission, There are many Universities that won't comp...

Rats in the Presidential office?

Nigerians woke up yesterday to shocking headlines like 'Nigerian president to 'work from home' after rat infestation' from the BBC and other reputable media houses and trust Nigerians, no dull moment, it gave them meme materials and a reason to get creative with tweets and jokes on social media and they didn't disappoint, and for the more serious ones.. gave them something to yarn and discuss about... Yes We agree, rats can  live in offices, they can " wine and dine"  and do the next ratty thing in offices, but first of all do not forget that we are talking about the office of Nigeria no. 1 citizen here, we are talking about the office of the President of Nigeria! Which renders the whole story absurd, funny and saddening at the same time since these brave gigantic rats couldn't even allow our dear president to work in his office... Funny and maddening enough, #42.918 billion was allocated to the Presidential villa alone in 2017! which also incl...

Transcript of President Buhari 's speech which has been causing ripples

Trending this week.. President Buhari on his arrival from London after a extended medical vacation made a broadcast that has been the source of disagreement between members of the public as some condemned the President for giving such a speech after more than a 100 days leave and some supporting the President.. The president’s full speech runs: “ My dear citizens, I am very grateful to God and to all Nigerians for their prayers. I am pleased to be back on home soil among my brothers and sisters. In the course of my stay in the United Kingdom, I have been kept in daily touch with events at home. Nigerians are robust and lively in discussing their affairs, but I was distressed to notice that some of the comments, especially in the social media have crossed our national red lines by daring to question our collective existence as a nation. This is a step too far. In 2003 after I joined partisan politics, the late Chief Emeka Ojukwu came and stayed as my guest in my hometown Daura....
